Are you hesitant to hire a CGI artist for your project? We're here to challenge some of the most common pre-conceptions and concerns that people have when contemplating CGI for the first time.
1. "CGI is too expensive."
Think again! In ourlast blog post we discussed how we helped a client launch a start-up drinks brand by making numerous changes while the product was still in the development stage. This saved a lot of money and time on numerous photoshoots. This is one of many examples where we were able to help clients reduce the long term costs.
2. "CGI is something only really used in TV and movies?"
False! Big brands such as IKEA, Pepsi and Nike have utilised the many advantages of CGI for quite a while now. However, many smaller companies and new businesses are now jumping on the CGI bandwagon when they realise the long term costs and flexibility of 3D imagery.
3. "We will need to provide CAD models?"
No need to worry! We can work with reference photos, drawings or the actual product or prototype. The photos don’t have to be great quality to get amazing CGI imagery as we use these only for reference.
4. "CGI looks fake."
Not necessarily. An artist with a solid understanding of lighting, texturing and modelling can create very realistic renders that are indistinguishable from a real photographic image or video.
5. "It's a long and complicated process."
Actually, compared to photography, CGI is a far simpler process with more flexibility. Changes or updates can be made quickly and easily without the need for a re-shoot. Plus, 3D assets can be re-used for future projects and explainer videos and promos can be produced using the 3D files.
Don't let these misconceptions hold you back from exploring the possibilities of CGI, we will take you step by step through the process.
